All contact lens wearers know that they run a higher risk for developing eye infections just because they wear lenses. Lenses trap dirt and other bits of bacteria against the surface of the eye for an extended period which allows the eyes to become infected. Also, it may be a good idea to throw out the mascara that was most recently used, in the event that it was the source of the infection. Do not go back to wearing eye make up until your eye doctor says that it is safe.
